Located east of the main island, the motu Piti Aau is home to several luxury hotels, including the Méridien Bora Bora and the Intercontinental Bora Bora Resort, which is particularly appreciated for its concern for well-being, as well as the Bora Bora lagoonarium. Although too commercial for our taste (a bit of a G.O. and Club Med atmosphere, with aquariums separated by fences), this site still offers the opportunity to non-divers and families to swim with masks and snorkels in the company of tropical fish, leopard rays and sharks. The southern tip of the motu is an interesting dive site. The water is clear and eagle rays can be seen.
