The entry point to Moorea if you arrive by boat, Vaiare Bay, located on the eastern side of the island, has been home to the island's largest port and only ferry dock since the 1980s. Upon arrival, the mountainous site overlooking Vaiare is already striking; it offers one of the most beautiful views of Mount Mou'aputa. The visitor immediately becomes aware of the imposing mass of Mount Tohiea, untouched by any habitation, and whose harmonious slopes are covered by an exuberant vegetation cover describing a whole range of greens.
