Dardha/Dardhë has around 400 inhabitants and is part of the Korça municipality. The village is 17 km from Korça. There are no minibus connections, so you have to get there by car. Perched at an altitude of 1,250 m, this pretty village with its stone houses was founded by the Aroumains around 1600 and is now mainly populated by Orthodox Albanians. It lies next to the small Drenova Pine National Park and Albania's only (and tiny) ski resort. It is also the birthplace of 18th-century painters Kostandin and Athanas Zografi. The main church, dedicated to St. George, dates from 1839 and retains its large wooden iconostasis.
