Quickly accessible from Montreal (13 km), the agglomeration of Longueuil includes the former cities of Greenfield Park, LeMoyne and Saint-Hubert and is the 5th most populated city in Quebec (according to the 2016 census). Despite its status as a residential suburb, the city has some attractions that deserve attention. Founded in 1657, Longueuil is also one of the province's ten oldest municipalities. Indeed, it is here that we find the first road in the country, built by the troops of the Carignan-Salières regiment, now known as Chambly Road. If you are interested in the history of the city, visit the Centre Marie-Rose site, which combines heritage and spiritual discovery, or the Saint-Antoine-de-Padoue cocathedral, which is part of the new circuit of the Sanctuaries of the River (sanctuaries of the river.com). Le Vieux-Longueuil has kept its old-fashioned charm and there are good bistros, gourmet shops, a public market (open all year round), a public beach and bicycle paths where you can explore its many green spaces.
