Originally created in 1950 on an area of 680 hectares, the park of Tazzeka is known for its very beautiful aged, which grow on the slopes of the mountains. The park, which is extended to other oak forests, covers an area of 12 000 hectares. Located southwest of Taza, in the Eastern Middle Atlas, it includes the Tazekka massif to the west and the Bab bou massif to the east. The park does not host as many species as other Moroccan national parks, such as those of Souss-Massa, and Al-Hoceima for example. Although the observations of the gypaëte and the salamander are possible, its forests, its varied landscapes and its panoramas can be traced to its attractions. The Tazzeka still does not suffer too much damage: if it is perhaps the Versant and surrounding area of the Dayat Chiker, which are surpâturés. The forest of cedar of Tazekka is well respected by the local populations, and this is almost the same for the entire forest area of that region.
