A beautiful town, clinging to a promontory, which once distinguished itself in its resistance to Napoleon's Italian campaign in 1799. At an altitude of 167 meters, Capoliveri is one of the most beautiful towns on the island of Elba. It is always pleasant to lose oneself in its narrow streets and small squares, especially during the Festa dell'Uva (first weekend in October) which celebrates wine with impressive historical re-enactments. Not to be missed: the beach of Lacona and that of the Innamorata ("the lover") which, according to legend, was the site of the love affair of the island's Romeo and Juliet in the 16th century, Lorenzo and Maria.
