Next to Casa Grande, the Coolidge ruins are a rare testimony to pre-Columbian Native American civilizations. They are evidence of the settlement of the Hohokams, a people whose earliest phase was between 300 B.C. and their heyday between 800 and 1000. Here, numerous buildings surrounded by a defensive wall form a complex that is dated to the thirteenth century.
