We often represent the Old South of the United States with its bayou, swamps and innondables plains. Do not go further: Congaree National Park protects the largest area of North American primeval forest. This wetland zone, a flood basin of the Congaree River, is very wild: 57% of the park are absolutely wild spaces. This park with Pluricentenaires trees, the largest in the eastern United States, is fascinating and easy to visit through the Broadwalk Loop, a raised dock path that allows you to visit the swamp on foot.The park covers a surface area of 107,4 km 2 and was recently created in 2003.
