This village benefits from a particular geographical situation, when you come from Beaune, just after Meursault, the road plunges into the hilly hillsides, the view is splendid. This village called Auxey-le-Grand took in 1924, the name of its first growth: Les Duresses. It is crossed by the stream of Cloux that you can walk along a path full of trees and flowers. The road that crosses it leads to La Rochepot and Nolay. A Gallic camp, then a Roman camp, installed at the top of Mount Melian, watched over the comings and goings on the tin road.
