Located in the inland part of the Güímar valley, these "cuevecitas", small caves, are more like a neighbourhood of Candelaria, accessible some five kilometres from the centre of the village. This neighbourhood is home to a church dedicated to San Andrés, a cultural centre, sports facilities including a Canarian wrestling centre, the Finca La Paz rural hostel and the Canarian government forest house. Above all, however, it is known for housing the Pino de las Cuevecitas, an example of the Pinus Canariensis pine, which is more than three hundred years old and is considered one of the neighbourhood's identifying symbols.
