A small village located on a crossroads at an altitude of 337 m from the hill Gornje Dragačevo. In the central part of the village of about 3,700 inhabitants quietly flows the river Bjelica. It is mentioned in the Turkish census in 1476 and registered in the cadastre as Kadiluk Brvenik, under the regime of Prince Paul. At that time there were only fourteen houses. The real name of Guča was used in 1831 as soon as the church was built, and then it became a small town around 1892. The origin of the name Guča is related to two legends: one from the Turkish name meaning "withdrawn, hidden", the other claims that Guča is of Italian origin: gucci evokes the cooing of pigeons.
