REGIONAL HOUSE OF TABLE ARTS - MRAT
A museum dedicated to the arts of the table, with a new exhibition every year. Housed in a hospice.
If you love Burgundy, then perhaps you also love French food and wine? If so, good news for you: this museum, the only one of its kind in France, is not to be missed. It's a museum that explains the evolution of the art of the table in France, complete with collectors' items. Housed in the Hospices Saint-Pierre, a 17th-century building surrounded by rose gardens, the museum is rich in history and unique pieces, and presents remarkable exhibitions on the arts of the table. Each year, a new exhibition is presented: in 2024, it is entitled "Exceptional tableware and unusual creations" and runs from early May to mid-November this year. The exhibition is the perfect opportunity to showcase the luxury pieces that the museum possesses within its gigantic collections. Porcelain pieces from major factories, enamels and, of course, metal tableware are inevitably in the spotlight during this atypical temporary exhibition. Over the last few centuries, tableware has undergone many changes. That's why some of today's most unusual serving pieces are also on display and explained. Take advantage of your visit to Arnay-le-Duc to admire the museum's permanent exhibition of just over 6,000 pieces. It's all housed in an unusual location, appreciated for its calm and serenity.
