Punta Lingua is located at the south-eastern point of Salina, 3 km from Santa Marina, on an ancient saltworks which has become a small brackish lake and which gave its name to the locality. It is a rallying point for migrating marine fauna. There are remains of walls from the 1st and 2nd centuries AD, dating back to the Roman imperial period. Next door, the village of Lingua is lost in the middle of vineyards and olive groves. There are a few hotels and restaurants here. The white lighthouse is a little piece of the world lost in front of the ocean. If you are passing by, don't forget to visit Punta Grottazza, not far from there, with its beautiful basalt cave.
