In 1992, the European Union awarded Curracloe the title of "Ireland's most beautiful beach". It is on this beach that Steven Spielberg shot the opening scenes of the film Il faut sauver le soldat Ryan (in place of the Normandy landing beaches) in 1997.
To get there: take the direction of Curracloe (R742), a charming road bordered by embankments dotted with thatched cottages. Access to immense beaches, which run along the coast from Raven Point to Cahire Point, often battered by the wind.
