The coastal road along the Glens of Antrim is a pure marvel, 100 km from Larne to Ballycastle. The first 45 kilometres were built by an engineer who, in 1834, opened the limestone rock of the cliffs with a mine to facilitate the work and passage of the farmers. Previously, they had to borrow transformed charretiers paths, winter, into real mud rivers. Now the route de la corniche offers the unforgettable spectacle of countless sandy beaches, small picturesque ports and caves dug in the cliffs. This route runs through several small seaside towns, each with a personal stamp, but all with the same intimacy. The Station station, along with the Glenarm Forest, will then go to Carnlough. You can't dream more calmly than this port of mooring in reduced model, and animated by local life. The road extends to Cushendall and its houses of impeccable white, a more important station, at least we seem to be following the passage of the previous lilliputians villages. While the journey continues to Cushendun, one will recall the dreams of Ossian, a th century Celtic poet, since a tomb bearing his name lies between the two villages (Ossian's Grave). It has nothing to do with the poet, it is a Neolithic tomb composed of two funeral chambers. Village is a great word to talk about Cushendun, which seems unreal. Homes similar to those in Cornwall built between 1912 and 1925 by Clough William Ellis are preserved by the National Trust, a national cultural heritage association.Once the bay of Murlough begins a fantastic climb that we do not recommend to people who are prone to vertigo, the road, narrow, along the cliffs that fall down in the sea. However, the little fears of the course will be largely offset by the magnificent sight of the top of the Fair head.
