The area around Hôi An is rich in sites to discover: a magnificent coastline, unspoilt countryside, craft villages...The market-gardening village of Trà Que, located between Hôi An and An Bàng, offers an insight into the region's traditional rural life. Many Hôi An agencies offer bicycle tours, the ideal way to discover the village in peace and quiet.4 km from Hôi An is the magnificent beach of An Bàng. Completely open to the public as it is not part of the tourist infrastructure network (i.e., no private beaches), spared from the erosion phenomenon that is fatal to Cua Dai beach, and accessible by bicycle, it stretches out facing the horizon and the Cu Lao Cham islands, which form a magnificent landscape between sky and sea. It's a charming little seaside resort, with numerous guesthouses welcoming travellers and various restaurants offering succulent seafood. However, at certain times of the year, the beach is sometimes marred by detritus from the open sea..Hidden Beach is the name given to the beach between Cua Dai and An Bàng. In fact, there's nothing secret about this "hidden" beach, and the nickname is misleading. Due to the erosion of Cua Dai beach, activity has naturally tended to shift northwards onto a part of the coastline that has recently been little exploited. However, Hidden Beach remains relatively untouched by the tourist crowds, and that's not a bad thing. The good news is that there are few, if any, street vendors and free parking. Just don't miss the discreet beach sign.To reach Cua Dai beach, take Rue Trân Hung Dao, which turns into Route de Cua Dai. Continue for 4 km. The fine sandy beach is - or rather was - very beautiful. It's getting smaller every year due to coastal erosion. Despite measures taken to curb the phenomenon (construction of dykes, placement of embankments) it is accelerating. The erosion of Cua Dai beach can be explained by the construction of a hydraulic dam upstream of the Thu Bon river. Just a few minutes from the town center, the beach remains a place to discover.
