It is a huge plantation, ten minutes south of Santo Antonio. Once owned by the Sociedade Agrícola Colonial, it was known for producing the best palm oil on the island, in addition to other agricultural products, also of good quality. At first glance, the plantation impresses with the size of its buildings, some of which have been rehabilitated for coffee production and then abandoned again. The former slave dwellings are now used to house the poorest population, about 300 inhabitants, who unfortunately live in poor hygienic conditions and promiscuity.
