This town of just over 35,000 inhabitants is best known for its shoe factories. Nevertheless, the 17th-century convent of San Buenaventura, the 18th-century parish church and a large monument depicting Jaime III in battle remind us that Llucmajor is a historic town. It was here that the independent kingdom of Mallorca lost its independence. The coastal area of Llucmajor with its windmills is more visited than the town itself. The Iberostar Golf de Son Antem is located here and consists of two courses: the East Golf Son Antem for beginners and the more challenging West Golf Son Antem
