Belezma National Park is located approximately 7 km north of Batna. It covers an area of 26 250 hectares. Marking the beginnings of the Massif massif, it has the particularity of hosting the unique Algerian settlement of Etruscan poeny, a species at risk. About thirty species of mammals live there: porcupine, wild cat, hyena, caracal lynx, weasel and mongoose. There is also the jackal, fox, hare, boar and gazelle. Manchette sheep have been reintroduced. On the birds side, the gambra partridge, the bonelli eagle, the black Milan, the wood dove, the black merle, the field alouette, the chimney swallow, the cave, the red-throat, the blue chickadee, the black chickadee and the black-headed fauvette are sharing the air. Historically, the site was inhabited in Roman times, which explains the presence of archaeological sites such as the Piscine swimming pool.
