If the village of Santo Domingo, halfway between San José and Heredia, was known above all for the Inbioparque, a large botanical garden with an educational vocation unfortunately closed in 2016, it is also a charming village with a relatively well preserved colonial architecture, where a peaceful atmosphere emanates. Lovers of walks and beautiful buildings will appreciate strolling through the streets of the village. You will not miss the basilica of Santo Domingo de Guzman, monumental and very beautiful. If you are there on a Saturday, go to the farmers' market, you will find many fresh and typical regional products.
