Arriving in Stupinigi from Turin on Corso Unione Sovietica, you'll see the astonishing silhouette of a stag sculpture atop the building's cupola, a reminder of the original vocation of this sumptuous hunting palace-pavilion, even if the real stags have long since disappeared... This small village of around 200 inhabitants, now part of the municipality of Nichelino, is well worth a visit, if only for its royal residence, a masterpiece of Baroque art designed by the indisputable Filippo Juvarra in the first half of the 18th century. It is surrounded by a beautiful park.
