This small community of just under 160 residents is located on the waterfront of Fortune Bay, just north of Fortune on the southern Burin Peninsula. It was first settled in 1836 according to the province's first census, but local rumours suggest that French settlers had been there since the late 18th century. Its provincial park, which borders the barachois, is the main attraction of the area. Two beautiful beaches are available as well as 75 campsites. Right next to the provincial park is a 9-hole golf course, Grande Meadows, and a resort, Grand Fairways.
