The West New Britain province is much more sauvage and less explored than the Rabaul region. With its jungle provided, its active volcanoes and its paradise beaches, the possibilities are enormous, but today tourism is concentrated on Kimbe bay, which houses 60% of the coral species in the indopacifique zone and over 900 species of fish. From an ecological point of view, the region is particularly threatened by deforestation, the main source of revenue, with its corollary, oil palm plantations. Like many small government stations in the country, Kimbe is not really a city but rather a street with a few shops. But it benefits from the beautiful bay of Kimbe, a world attraction for all divers.
