Attention jewel! Veere is a beautiful town (actually more of a village considering its size). It is located northeast of Middelburg and has 1,600 inhabitants. Its history dates back to the 13th century with the establishment of the hamlet Kampvere. In 1541, the town obtained a monopoly on the import of wool from Scotland and prospered. Veere was the first town where tobacco was cultivated. It contains many typical and historical buildings as well as a very nice harbor. Veere is an almost obligatory stop on your discovery of the region and for many reasons.
