Continuing south on the E-10, we reach Vestvågøy, the most densely populated of the Lofoten islands. It is home to the town of Leknes. An ideal town for refuelling, shopping or simply taking a break in a café-restaurant. Leknes is also home to a regional airport, allowing visitors to begin or end their stay at a strategic point in the archipelago. The town may not be exceptional, but the setting is not at all unpleasant! Once again, the E-10 runs alongside some very pretty bays and cliffs that are sure to entice you to stop for a photo, particularly near the village of Napp. North of Leknes lies one of the archipelago's most beautiful beaches, Hauklandstranda. The hike to Mannen viewpoint is relatively easy and doesn't take long. Those wishing to do so can continue to the peak, Veggen, which rises to 489 meters. From the top, you can appreciate the beauty of the beach and the gradation of the waters of the Norwegian Sea. In the hollow of the cliff, Lake Vasskarvatnet and, on the other side, Uttakleiv beach.
