Important center of green tourism and geothermal energy, Bouillante is bathed in the Caribbean Sea on the west. The beach of Malendure is lined with black sand (from the nearby volcano) which may surprise at first sight. It is located in front of the ilets Pigeon and combines nautical pleasures and visits of the sea bed in the natural reserve nicknamed the Cousteau reserve, classified zone which made the tour of the circles of divers conferring an international reputation to him. Bouillante is also the starting point for the discovery of the rainforest in hiking, bivouac, trekking and a multitude of sports activities
