Between Skye and the Applecross peninsula, the island of Raasay is remarkable for its hill of Dùn Caan (444 m) with its curious silhouette and from which one enjoys a superb panorama, once its ascent is completed from the path which leads to it. The cliffs of the east coast are also very impressive and the ruins of Brochel Castle, to the north, still evoke the glory of their past youth. Here, everything is of a great rest and a palpable quietude. There are a few hiking routes and Raasay House can be called upon for many guided treks, kayaking and sailing activities(www.raasay-house.co.uk). The establishment is also a hotel.
