In the north-west of the island, the long beach of Rodney Bay stretches for around 3.5 km and links the sumptuous Pigeon Island peninsula to the 200-metre-high rocks of Mount Pimard. Between the two ends lie the superb sandy beaches of Reduit Beach, home to a succession of resorts, hotels, restaurants, boutiques and nightclubs. Rodney Bay is a popular destination for Anglo-Saxon wedding and honeymooners, and its fortunes are based on its marina, one of the friendliest in the West Indies, which attracts thousands of tourists and cruise passengers every year. The atmosphere is in full swing, if a little overdone at times.
