The Belait district, in the west of the country, is the heart of the oil industry, by far the sultanate's main economic resource, despite timid attempts at diversification. In the town of Seria, you'll have the opportunity to gain a better understanding of this industry at the Oil & Gas Discovery Centre on Jalan Tengah. Jalan Labi leads into the interior of the district to the Labi kampung, a small Iban enclave lost in the midst of fruit farms.
