Located less than 5 km from the Western Sahara and crossed by the Nouadhibou-Zouérate railroad line, the town of Choum, where some 3,000 inhabitants live, is best known nowadays as a communication hub. In fact, in addition to the railroad, which splits it, the locality sees the Zouérate-Atar asphalt road axis passing through it. Although there are no hotels, the small town offers the possibility to eat after a trip on the tracks of the region or to refuel before getting on the train. Finally, you should know that minibuses and collective cabs are waiting for passengers when they get off the train to take them to Atar.
