Uppuveli is the northern and adjoining suburb of Trincomalee. It is approximately 8.5 km from the start of the beach at the foot of Fort Frederick (Trincomalee) to its northern end. Uppuveli is a pleasant little resort with a variety of accommodations, restaurants and small bars. Boat trips to Pigeon Island and this beautiful beach are the main attractions of the town. All establishments are able to offer you excursions to Pigeon Island, diving trips or whale and dolphin watching.
