Travel Guide Xcacel

At 2 km from Xel-Há, at the Km 112 of the road 307, after a 500 m path, a beautiful wild beach of white sand known to be a very important place of laying of the green and loggerhead turtles. They land between June and October. Biologists collect the eggs to release a few weeks later the small turtles by thousands. This sanctuary of 362 ha is protected since 1998. It is forbidden to come there with food. No restaurant either, nor parasol. The cenote Xcacelito allows you to refresh yourself in fresh water (many locals on Sundays). The access to Xcacel (from 10 am to 4 pm) costs 88 US$, destined to the conservation of the place.
