25 km east of Asmara, on the road down to Massawa, Nefasit is a charming small town where Christians and Muslims coexist with the greatest respect: the church and mosque built almost side by side attest to this. This is where the path leads to the monastery of Debre Bizen (which can be seen from the road). If you do not intend to go there, the city itself, however charming it may be, does not justify an excursion. The easiest way to go to Nefasit is to rent a taxi by the day (count between 1000 and 1500 ERN).
