In the 16th century, Gezaulole became a port of embarkation for caravans carrying goods and slaves to Zanzibar. Today it is a typical Tanzanian village, on the coast, in a quiet area. By contacting Kali Mata Ki Jai (a local women's association), you can sleep or have a meal in the homes of the inhabitants, rent bicycles, visit the ruins, see how people live and work (pottery, basketry, weaving, dyeing...), go out to sea with the fishermen... From the village, you can also go by dhow to Sinda Island, which has a very beautiful beach. All these activities are part of a cultural tourism project.
