In the heart of the Mälar valley, Bro is a pretty little municipality with some 130 kilometers of coastline and an archipelago of some 50 islands. There are many beautiful sights to see in this municipality, which attracts a small number of visitors in both summer and winter. There are hiking trails, countless bicycle paths, winding forest roads and beautiful outdoor recreation areas, swimming beaches and fishing areas. Many of the municipality's sites are a testament to Sweden's rich heritage, such as Håtuna, where it is said that King Birger was imprisoned after being deceived by his brothers in 1306!
