A crossroads of cultures, Nador was at the crossroads of Phoenician, Carthaginian, Roman and Tamazight civilizations. Today, it is the gateway to Spain, with the enclave of Melilla. Thanks to its lagoon, corniche and port, it is a city in full tourist development. It also has an airport served by Royal Air Maroc and Ryanair, as well as two train stations serving Casablanca, Taourirt, Fès and Tangier. It is also possible to arrive by ferry from Almeria with the Transmediterranea company, which regularly serves the city. From Sète, Grandi Navi Veloci operates two weekly services.
