Travel Guide Pointe D'Esny

South of Mahébourg, a small road starts from the bus station and runs along the sea, 3 km or 4 km further, through the Pointe d'Esny to end at Blue Bay. Between the road, which is not very busy, and the ocean, there are only a few villas, some of which are for rent and others which are converted into guesthouses. They stand next to each other and block almost all access to the beach. When you stay in the area, you have a piece of lagoon to yourself and a private stretch of sand exposed to the southeast. You can enjoy one of the best baths in Mauritius: ultra-fine sand, almost no corals, good depth of the lagoon... A dream ! At Pointe d'Esny, we are far from the tourist effervescence of the North: prices are more reasonable, people more authentic, tourists less numerous. It is here that the soul of Mauritius remains and that you can really taste the simple and quiet atmosphere of this warm country. Note however that the airport is not far away and that the calm of the area can be punctually disturbed by the passage of an airplane, which, in all sincerity, is not so annoying.
