A quiet hamlet, Palissade occasionally attracts passing travellers for two curiosities: the nearby Mount Limon, the island's highest peak at 393 metres, which can be climbed in less than ten minutes by a footpath designed to offer a panoramic view of the whole island (or almost) and the islets scattered over the vast lagoon. Have a few cold local beers or a bottle of wine, and sit there at sunset for an aperitif! During the day, take a break at the Leopold Brothers, suppliers of basketry to a large part of the island. Their workshop is renowned throughout Rodrigues for its quality. You will be able to see craftsmen at work
