Contrary to what its name might suggest, the beach bordering the village of Graviers is not made of small pebbles but of a soft and bright sand. It is even one of the longest and most beautiful beaches of the island, marvelous in its wild immensity and lined with filaos for the siesta. It can be reached on foot by the coastal path or by car or bus by the road that descends from Grande Montagne. A few guesthouses and pensions border it, others stand at the back in the countryside, still others (villas for rent) are in the heights with panoramic views of the hills, greenery and lagoon.
