The two hamlets are located on the seafront, near the Gulf of Figari. They have the typical architecture of the villages of the far south, with their granite troglodytic houses built around rocky chaos that were once used as dwellings. The parish church, in neoclassical style, is located halfway between Pianotolli and Caldarello. Its bell tower is original, and it has been recently renovated. To the south of the beautiful tower of Caldarello, you can see the ruins of an early Christian baptistery dating back to the 4th century, which was rebuilt at the beginning of the Pisan period. The Pisan church at the entrance to the gulf served as a landmark for sailors.
