16 km south of Santander, in the village of Obregón, is the unusual Cabárceno Natural Park, which has been converted into a wildlife park. To reach this small rocky enclave that is the pride of the locals, the proposed itinerary describes a loop to the east. From Santander, take the direction of Bilbao (E-70). After 13 km, take the road that climbs to the Peña Cabarga mountain (4 km of bends). From the top of a viewpoint, you will have the most perfect vision of the Cantabrian landscape, divided, or rather spread out between its shores and its powerful massifs. Continuing eastwards, we reach Solares, where we can catch our breath.
