In a panoramic position on the lake, Torri del Benaco is a picturesque town. It owes its name to the many fortified towers that defended it. Of these towers, today two remain, one to the north and the other next to the Scaligeri castle. Made of grey stone, from the top of its spur, the castle dominates the houses of this charming village and houses a small museum dedicated to local traditions. Torri is also famous for its local flora, which is more Mediterranean than mountainous. The heart of Torri is Piazza Calderini, with its Venetian-style buildings, which opens onto the charming little port.
