Mira, which dates back to Roman times, has benefited for centuries from commercial river traffic. In a way, this profit still exists thanks to the tourist boats that cross this stretch of the Brenta along the route of the villas. The succession of villas along the banks is spectacular. To name but a few: Villa Brusoni with its English garden, Villa Bon decorated with frescoes from the school of Giandomenico Tiepolo, Villa Contarini dei Leoni, some of whose frescoes are preserved in the Jacquemart-André Museum in Paris. La Malcontenta, the work of Palladio, remains the undisputed masterpiece of the town
