Located west of the Port of Tolo on the East Rail Line, the former Town of Tai Po has transformed into a new, growing city. Its well-known market offers fresh, dried herbs and seafood. Old hakka women, who recognize their fringed hats of a black cotonnade (to protect them from sun) and their Chinese balance, sell salted eggs, soy paste, herbal herbs and offers of paper (fake notes). This market is located near the Railway Museum.
