Øvre Pasvik is a Norwegian national park. It features a vast Siberian taiga. The park was created in 1970 and enlarged in 2003. It covers an area of 119 km². Since 1991, Finland has also declared this wilderness a protected area. And in 1992, on the other side of the border, the Russian authorities created a sister park, a zapovednik (nature reserve). This park boasts the largest primary pine forest in Norway! Marked hiking trails. 2 refuges open. We recommend the 5 km walk from the Grensefoss parking lot to Treriksrøysa, where Norway, Finland and Russia meet!
