The Khénifra National Park, covering almost 200,000 ha, is the latest Moroccan park, created in 2008. Its aim is to respond to the urgent threats to natural resources in the Middle Atlas region. Neighboring two national parks, it is distinguished by its Atlas cedars, which make up the majority of its forests, along with holm oaks and maritime pines. The region's predominantly Amazigh population lives mainly from agriculture. As for the fauna, this protected area is home to numerous species such as panthers, striped hyenas, jackals and monkeys. Wild boar, thrushes and hares also live here.
