The Infernal Islands (Otok Paklinski), some twenty small islands, seem to crown the large island of Hvar. Just a few miles from the port of Hvar-city, the nearest island, Gališnik, is very popular with tourists, followed by Jerolim, a favorite with naturists, and Marinkovac, the party island. Sveti Klement, the largest, is closely linked to the Meneghello family, who have lived on the southwest coast since 1848. Egen Meneghello, a pharmacist-herbalist from Hvar, made his fortune with a natural formula based on island rosemary. He then created an arboretum and an exotic garden (cactus, mimosa, eucalyptus, olive, rosemary, laurel, mint and other medicinal herbs). The seabed is just as rich. Greco-Roman amphorae can be admired in situ. Today, the heirs have turned to luxury tourism.
