Just outside Lovran, the small medieval port appears to be clinging to the side of a hill that juts out into the sea. Mošćenička Draga captivates with its peacefulness, nestled between the pine forest and the sea. Urban development has been restricted by the geography of the area. At the end of the 19th century, the beautiful villas built for the Armanda family launched the start of foreign vacationing here. The fin-de-siècle ambience of early aristocratic tourism is more palpable here than in Opatija.
