At the beginning of the 20th century, speleologists from Trieste discovered these caves in the basement of the Dinaric Alps, between Višnjan and Poreč These cavities represent the most important underground site in northern Croatia. Five rooms with impressive stalagmites. Then, after a 60 m descent, the inland lake appears. A unique opportunity to see an endemic animal species, the eel protuberance (Proteus anguinus). The constant temperature is 14 °C.
