Restaurant specialising in Alsatian cuisine
Located in a dead-end street set back from the Place du Marché aux Fruits between Little Venice and Place de l'Ancienne-Douane, this three-room restaurant specialises in Alsatian cuisine. Here, we play the local colour card to the full: visible woodwork and beams, red and white walls decorated with hearts (as are often the houses in the region)... The menu gives pride of place to the great classics of Alsatian cuisine: snails, baeckeoffe, onion pie, ham braised in Munster, sauerkraut garnished, "und so und so"... As for the day's suggestions, you can be tempted by a grilled trout with its garlic sauce, seafood queen bites, or a tab of beef with shallot served with spaetzlés. In addition, the well-named Taverne unveils a highly recommendable wine list for its selection of excellent Alsatian wines!
